KFC and the painful stupid

sylvariThis morning I saw a commercial for KFC's new pink ribbon campaign.
Seriously KFC?
Let's just ignore the fact that fatty foods have been linked in some studies to breast cancer. We will just put that little factoid to the side for one moment. Instead let's focus on the biggest killer of women in our country.
Is it breast cancer?
No
It's heart disease.
According to a study published by the CDC 1 in 2 women and 2 of 3 men will be at risk for heart disease by the age of 40. Compare that to i in 8 women and 1 in 1000 men. Not to mention the CDC breaks hear disease down into a few different categories.
Congestive Heart Failure is 1 in 5 for both sexes, Arterial fibrilation 1 n 4, Diabetes 1 in 3, Stroke 1 in 6 for men and 1 in 5 for women.
It's not that I don't think that breast cancer is a horrible disease for those who are stricken. It's just that I think that a company that contributes to the leading cause of death in Americans in general and who had the balls to recently offer a sandwich that even it's biggest fans calls a horror( The Double Down - two fried chicken patties with bacon and cheese in between no bun 540 cal. 290 gm of fat) cannot really think we can be fooled into believing they have the best interests of women at heart with this new campaign? If you really cared about women you would donate a part of every sale of a regular red bucket to heart disease awareness. You would offer a few more healthy choices on your menu. You would take steps to help combat the one truly preventable disease this country has.
Shame on you.
Shame on you for thinking we are that stupid.
Shame on you for thinking you can buy your way out of this with money to the "it" charity
