Last night Mike bumped me just as I was getting ready to leave work and told me there was a brand new cache planted on the bike trail in Hadley. Now it was late,1045 or so, but the weather was nice, I was awake and in desperate need of both quiet and excercise for my fat ass so I asked him if he wanted to try to be FTF (first to find). Being 7 he immediately jumped at the chance. I headed home,picked up the FuzzyBoi and off we went. The cahce had only been published for about an hour and it was 11 pm so we figured we would have a good chance of snagging the FTF prize. Two unactivated tags. I really wanted to get these tags for Ashke as a birthday gift so we put balls to the wall on the highway.
We got there about 1120, grabbed the bag and headed in. The walk was lovely. In the semi dark the road looked like it went on forever in a tunnel of towering trees. Fireflies and faeries danced around us the whole way.The sky was clear and full of stars with the moon just coming out of new. It was lovely. peaceful. serene. Midsummer Eve magic.
After looking around a bit we found the cache. By this time it was 1209. Unfortunately we were the second people there. *sigh* The people in this area are waaayyy competative about their FTFs. But it was a lovey walk in the Midsummer moonlight with my honey so all went well.
Home by 1245. Spent some time with the Buddah and finally fell asleep around 130.

All in all a nice way to end the day.
